NotedBuzz is an independent online publication that publishes original entertainment and lifestyle stories. For the purposes of data-protection law we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. 2. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and the message you write. You do not need an account to read NotedBuzz, and we do not ask readers to register.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and the services described below may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you view, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand how it is used.
Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies, described in section 4 and in our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use information
- To respond to messages, corrections, copyright notices and business enquiries.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website.
- To understand which stories are read so we can publish more useful content.

We do not use your information to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not use contact-form details for marketing unless you clearly ask us to.

We may use privacy-conscious analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand aggregate traffic (for example, which stories are popular and which countries visitors come from). These tools may set cookies and receive the technical information described in section 2.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser may connect to Google’s servers to fetch them. Some stories may link to or embed content from services such as YouTube, Instagram or Facebook; those services may collect information under their own policies when you interact with their content. Our social media pages are hosted by the platforms themselves.
7. Legal bases for processing (UK and EEA)
Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, we rely on: consent (for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising); legitimate interests (to run, secure and improve the site and to reply to your enquiries, balanced against your rights); and legal obligation where we must keep or disclose information by law.
8. How we share information
We do not sell your contact-form details. We share information only with:

- authorities or other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect rights, safety or the security of the site; and
- a successor owner, if NotedBuzz is ever transferred, in which case this policy would continue to apply to existing information unless you are told otherwise.

Our service providers and advertising partners may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions offered by our providers.
10. How long we keep information
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the conversation, and we delete them when they are no longer needed. Server and security logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider. Cookie lifetimes are set by the cookie provider and are described in their own policies.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawing consent does not affect earlier processing). To make a request, email notedbuzz@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject or use the contact form. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
UK and EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their data-protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
California residents may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, but advertising cookies used by our partners may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out through the ad-choice links in section 5 or your browser’s privacy settings, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. Children’s privacy
NotedBuzz is a general-audience publication and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Links to other websites
Our stories and pages may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site.
